What You’ll Need

  • warm water
  • mild detergent
  • a white cloth
  • hydrogen peroxide (optional)

Step 1: Blot the Stain

Use a clean, white cloth to blot the stain gently. Try to press the cloth firmly against the area without rubbing or scrubbing the fabric, which may cause more staining.

Step 2: Apply Detergent

Mix warm water and a mild detergent and use a clean cloth to dab the mixture onto the stain. Do not rub or scrub at the area, this may cause additional staining. Leave mixture on the stain for several minutes to allow it to sink in and break up the gravy.

Step 3: Rinse the Stain

Rinse area with lukewarm water. If the stain persists, try using a solution of hydrogen peroxide and water and repeat steps 1-3. Once the stain has been removed, rinse the area thoroughly with cold water and allow it to air dry.

Conclusion

With just a few easy steps, you can have your silk chiffon free from gravy stains in no time. Be sure to use a mild detergent and apply a solution of hydrogen peroxide if needed. Remember – don’t rub or scrub the fabric as this may cause additional staining. Good luck!
