The first step to getting rid of the stain is to soak up as much of the excess gravy as possible. Use a clean cloth or paper towel to carefully blot stain. Do not rub or scrub the stain - this will only spread the gravy further and make it harder to remove.
After blotting up the excess gravy, pre-treat stain with a stain remover or detergent. Make sure to read the label and follow any instructions. Allow the stain remover to sit for at least 10 minutes before rinsing it off.
Fill a sink or bucket with cold water and add a cup of laundry detergent. Submerge the stained area of the shorts in the soapy water and let it sit for 30 minutes. After that, rinse off the shorts with cold water.
Once the shorts have been rinsed off, place them in the washing machine with a gentle detergent. Use cold water cycle and do not add any fabric softener. After the cycle is complete, check the shorts for any remaining gravy stain. If the stain is still visible, repeat steps 1-4.
Once you’ve gotten rid of the stain, let the shorts air dry or if you’re in a rush, place them in the dryer on low heat. Check the shorts every 15 minutes to make sure they aren’t getting too hot. Once shorts are dry, you’re all set!
