Sarongs are lightweight and comfortable fabrics for any occasion, however, they can be notoriously difficult to clean. Especially when you’re dealing with stains like gravy. Fortunately, cleaning up gravy is easier than you might think. Here’s a step-by-step guide for removing gravy stains from your sarong:
The first step in tackling a gravy stain is to blot the excess sauce with a clean rag or paper towel. Keep blotting until you’ve absorbed as much of the stain as possible.
Mix a teaspoon of detergent with a cup of water. Using a clean cloth, dip fabric in the detergent mixture and rub the spot with the gravy stain. Then, rinse with cool water.
A stain remover can work wonders on stubborn gravy stains. Make sure the stain remover you use says it's safe for sarong fabric, and follow the manufacturer's instructions. Let the stain remover sit for a few minutes before rinsing with cold water.
Once pre-treated with either detergent or stain remover, place the stained sarong in the washing machine and launder according to the care instructions. When complete, hang the fabric out to air dry (make sure it doesn't touch other garments while drying). Do not put sarong in the dryer as this can set the stain.
Now, you know how to remove pesky gravy stains from your Sarong. With a few simple steps and household items, you can get your sarong looking as good as new.
