When it comes to stain removal, timing is key. Try to tackle stain as quickly as possible before it has a chance to set. If the stain has already dried onto the fabric, use a spray bottle filled with cold water to dampen the area.
Once you’ve dampened the stain, apply a small amount of a fabric-friendly stain remover, such as those made specifically for removing grease or protein-based stains (a good example of this would be an enzyme-based cleaner). Gently work the stain remover into fabric and let it sit for up to five minutes.
When the five minutes are up, rinse area thoroughly with cold water. If the stain persists, repeat the process until it disappears. If at any point the fabric begins to look faded or discolored, take a break and test the stain remover on an inconspicuous spot of the fabric first.
After the stain has been removed, gently pat the area dry with a clean towel and leave it to air dry completely. Do not put the fabric in dryer until you’re sure the stain is gone.
Removing tough gravy stains from Ralph Lauren fabrics is possible, but requires patience and diligence in order to achieve the best results. By following the steps outlined above, you should have your Ralph Lauren fabric looking brand new again in no time.
