Removing gravy stains from piqué requires more than just a damp cloth and some elbow grease. You'll need a few supplies on hand in order to do the job effectively. Here's what you'll need:

  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Salt
  • Laundry detergent
  • Colour-safe bleach, if necessary
  • Old toothbrush or soft bristled brush

Now that you have all your supplies, here are the steps you will need to take in order to successfully remove gravy stains from piqué:

  1. Blot the stain with a dry towel or sponge to remove as much of the gravy as possible.
  2. Mix together equal parts white vinegar and hot water. Dip the old toothbrush or soft bristled brush into solution and gently scrub the stain.
  3. Mix together 1/4 cup of baking soda, 1 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 cup of cold water. Apply this solution directly to the stain.
  4. Wash the fabric with laundry detergent according to the garment's suggested washing instructions. If necessary, use colour-safe bleach for stubborn gravy stains.
  5. Let the fabric air dry or machine dry on low heat.

By following these simple steps, you should be able to easily remove gravy stains from piqué. With a bit of patience and right supplies, you can have your piqué fabric looking good as new in no time.
