If you have ever dropped a dollop of gravy on your pencil skirt, you know how difficult it can be to remove the stain from the fabric. Don’t worry—even if it looks like the gravy is not going to come out, you can still get rid of it with some quick and easy steps.
First, sprinkle some baking soda on the gravy stain. Baking soda will help absorb the grease from the gravy, making it easier to remove. Let baking soda sit on top of the stain for 10-15 minutes before wiping it off.
Once the baking soda has been wiped away, dunk the skirt in a bowl of cold water. Let it soak for 15 minutes or so, then use a gentle detergent designed for delicate fabrics. Use a soft brush to scrub the stain until it is gone. Rinse the skirt with cold water and hang to dry.
If stain is still visible after the first wash, repeat the process. Pre-treat the stain again with baking soda, and then use a stain remover if necessary. Once the stain is gone, be sure to launder the skirt in cold water as normal.
With these steps, you can easily remove gravy stains from your pencil skirt. Just remember to pre-treat the stain and use a mild detergent and soft brush, and the gravy should come out with no problem.
