As soon as possible after the accident, use a clean cloth or paper towel to blot the stain gently. Do not rub or scrub the stain - this can spread stain further and damage the leather.
Once you have blotted stain, leave the area to dry before applying talcum powder. Sprinkle talcum powder directly onto the stain and leave it to sit for an hour or two, so that it can absorb grease from the stain.
Once the talcum powder has had time to work its magic, lightly brush off the powder with a soft, damp cloth, taking care not to rub too hard. The stain should start to disappear.
If necessary, repeat process until the stain is completely gone. You may also want to use a leather-safe cleaner to help finish the job.
Once you're happy with the result, it's important to seal in the clean. Use a leather-conditioner to condition the area and protect the leather.
