What You Need:
- Salt or baking soda
- Liquid laundry detergent
- Cold water
- Sponge
Steps for Removing the Stains:
- Sprinkle the area liberally with either salt or baking soda.
- Let the salt or baking soda sit for up to 10 minutes so that it can absorb the grease from the gravy.
- Using a sponge and cold water, wipe away the salt or baking soda from the fabric.
- If stain is still present, apply a small amount of liquid laundry detergent to the stain.
- Using a damp sponge, gently rub detergent into the stain.
- Rinse off the detergent with cold water.
- Leave to air dry until the stain is no longer visible.
Tips for Prevention:
- Always blot excess gravy spills as soon as possible to prevent the stain from setting in.
- If the stain has already dried in, do not scrub it as this will only make it worse.
- Pre-treat the garment before laundering to ensure the stain is removed.
