When removing gravy stains, work quickly and carefully. Start by scraping off as much excess gravy as possible with a butter knife or spoon. For stubborn gravy stains, make a cleaning solution of equal parts cold water and liquid detergent. Place stained area of jumper in the solution and let it soak for a few minutes.

Once the stain has been soaked, gently rub the area with a soft cloth or brush. Do not scrub too hard as it may damage fabric. After a few minutes, rinse the area with cold water before placing the jumper in washing machine. Use a mild detergent and the lowest setting possible to avoid making gravy stain worse.

If stain is still visible after washing, mix one teaspoon of white vinegar with two cups of cold water and use a damp cloth to dab stained area. Rinse the area again with cold water and then hang the jumper outside in the sun to dry.

By following these steps, you should be able to get rid of the gravy stain without damaging your jumper. In the future, it's best to take care when eating and dressing to avoid spilling food on your clothes.
