Start by blotting the stained area with a clean cloth or paper towel. This will help to remove any excess gravy and should help to reduce the size of stain.
Mix equal parts of white vinegar and cold water and use it to pre-treat the stained area. The vinegar acts as an acid that helps to break down the protein in the gravy and make it easier to remove.
Create a lather with dishwashing detergent or baby shampoo and then rub it into the stain. Work it into the fabric using small circular motions. Rinse the area with cold water when you're finished.
Wash the jersey as normal in the washing machine using the most appropriate cycle for fabric. Add a small amount of laundry detergent to help remove any remaining residue.
Finally, hang the jersey up to dry or lay it flat to avoid any additional wrinkling.
With a few simple steps, you can easily remove gravy stains from your jersey. Make sure to pre-treat the stain with white vinegar and then use dishwashing detergent or baby shampoo to remove it. Finally, wash it in the washing machine and hang to dry.
