You will need some supplies before starting this process. Gather a bucket, two cloths or sponges, cold water, laundry detergent, and vinegar (optional).
Submerge hat in the bucket of cold water. Do not use hot or warm water as this could set the stain and make it much harder to remove.
Let the hat soak for 10-15 minutes to allow the stain to soften.
Once the hat has had time to soak, create a soapy solution in the bucket with the laundry detergent and optional vinegar. Rub one of the cloths or sponges together to create a sudsy mixture and get it ready to clean your hat.
Using the cloth/sponge you created the soapy solution with, gently scrub the area of the hat that is stained.
Rinse the hat with cold water, making sure to remove all traces of the soapy solution.
Let the hat air dry, either by leaving it out to naturally air dry or using a fan to speed up process. Once dry, give hat a good brushing to return it to its former glory.
