Step 1: Blot the Stained Area

The first step is to lightly blot stained area with cold water to remove as much of gravy as possible. Do not rub or scrub the fabric, as this could cause stain to spread and set in deeper. Make sure to use cold water only, as hot water can make the stain harder to remove.

Step 2: Apply a Stain Remover

Next, you will need to apply a stain remover specifically designed for removing grease and oil-based stains. Apply the stain remover directly to the stained area, then allow it to sit for 15-30 minutes. Do not use chlorine bleach on georgette, as this can damage fabric.

Step 3: Rinse with Cold Water

Once the stain remover has had time to work, it’s time to rinse fabric with cold water. Again, do not use hot water as this may cause the stain to set in deeper. Be sure to rinse the fabric thoroughly until all of stain remover has been removed.

Step 4: Wash Fabric

Finally, you can wash the fabric as you normally would. Use a mild detergent and cold water and follow the care instructions on fabric label. Allow the fabric to air dry afterwards.
