What You Need

  • Cold water
  • Dish soap
  • Old toothbrush or scrub brush
  • White vinegar or hydrogen peroxide
  • Laundry detergent

Step 1: Blotting

When you first notice the stain, don’t panic. Start by blotting the spot with a clean cloth soaked in cold water. This step helps lift some of the grease out of the fabric.

Step 2: Soaping

Now that you’ve blotted, it’s time to add some soap. Apply a small amount of dishwashing liquid directly to the stained area. Working from the outside of the stain, gently “scrub” the area with an old toothbrush or a soft bristled scrub brush. Rinse with cold water.

Step 3: Treating

If the stain stubbornly remains, you can treat it with white vinegar or hydrogen peroxide. Just apply a small amount to the area and let sit for 15 minutes. Rinse with cold water.

Step 4: Detergent

Finally, you can launder the item according to the Forever 21 care labels. Use a mild laundry detergent and cold water. This should complete the process and get the stain out.

Final Tips & Tricks

  • Start the cleaning process as soon as possible. Fresh stains are easier to remove.
  • It is important to use cold water throughout the process. Hot and warm water can set the stain permanently.
  • Avoid using fabric softeners as the chemicals may interfere with the cleaning process.
