Step 1: Blotting Up Any Excess Liquids

To get started, you will need a clean white cloth and some cold water. Start by blotting away any excess liquids on the curtains. Do not rub the fabric as this may cause the stain to spread further. Instead, place the white cloth over stain and gently press down with your hands. Repeat this process until all liquid has been absorbed.

Step 2: Mixing a Cleaning Solution

The next step is to create a cleaning solution for the gravy stain. This can be done by mixing equal parts white vinegar and cold water. Once the solution is ready, use a clean sponge or cloth to apply it directly to the stained area. Allow the solution to sit for 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing it with cold water.

Step 3: Using an Enzyme Detergent

If the stain is still visible after the solution has been applied, you can try using an enzyme detergent. Enzyme detergents are designed to break down protein-based stains such as gravy. Simply apply a small amount of the detergent to the stain and let it sit for around 30 minutes. After the enzyme detergent has had time to work its magic, rinse the area with cold water and then launder curtains as usual.
