Before you start scrubbing, it's important to try and lift off as much of the stain as possible. Use a dull knife or spoon to scrape the dried gravy off. Be careful not to press too hard and damage the board.
Mix equal parts water and white vinegar in a bowl and set your cutting board into the solution. For maximum effect, let board soak for 1-2 hours. This will help to loosen the stain and make it easier to clean.
Sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda onto the stain. This will help to absorb any grease or oil that may still be present. Let baking soda sit for 15-20 minutes before wiping away.
Using a damp sponge and a mild dish soap, gently scrub the area in circular motions until all residue is removed. Rinse away the soap, and inspect the board to ensure all the gravy has been removed.
To finish up, you’ll want to sanitize the board with lemon juice to kill any bacteria that might have been left behind. Simply cut a lemon in half and rub it over the board. Let the juice sit for several minutes before wiping away.
