What You'll Need
- Dish soap
- White vinegar
- A soft-bristled brush
Instructions
- Start by testing fabric for colorfastness. To do this, mix one part dish soap with four parts water and dab a tiny bit of it onto an inconspicuous area of the fabric. If the color does not transfer or fade, the item is safe to machine wash.
- Create a cleaning solution by combining equal parts white vinegar and lukewarm water in a container.
- Using a soft-bristled brush, gently scrub stained area with the solution. Do not use any harsh scrubbing motions as this may cause fabric to fray.
- Rinse the stained area thoroughly with cool water.
- Air dry your cotton chambray item completely before machine washing.
- Once the item has been safely machine washed, it should be air dried once more.
