Start by blotting the stain with a clean rag. This will help to remove some of the excess gravy that might have spilled onto the fabric. Do not rub or scrub the stain, as doing so could actually cause it to spread and become worse.
The next step is to create a stain remover solution. Start by mixing one tablespoon of dish detergent, one tablespoon of white vinegar, and two cups of cold water. You can also make a paste out of Borax powder and baking soda and then apply it directly to the stain. Leave paste on for 10-15 minutes and then rinse with cool water.
If the stain is still present after using the stain remover solution or paste, try using oxygen bleach. Mix one tablespoon of oxygen bleach with two cups of warm water, then dip a clean rag into mixture and dab it onto the stain. Once the stain is gone, rinse the area with cool water and allow it to air dry.
For particularly stubborn stains, you can also try using hydrogen peroxide. Dab the hydrogen peroxide directly onto the stained area with a clean rag. Gently scrub in a circular motion until the stain has been removed. Once you're satisfied, rinse the area with cool water and pat dry with a clean towel.
Gravy stains don't have to be the end of your favorite shirt or dress. With the right cleaning methods, you can easily get rid of the stain and restore your clothing item to its former glory. Follow these steps to easily clean gravy stains from cotton fabrics.
