If you catch the spill right away, it's much easier to get out of the fabric. The first step is to blot up as much of the sauce as you can using a paper towel or a clean cloth. Then, mix a small spoonful of white vinegar with a cup of cold water, and saturate the area with the mixture. Let this sit for fifteen minutes before rinsing with cold water.
For stains that have already dried in, start by scraping away any large chunks with a butter knife. Then, make a paste out of one part dishwashing liquid and two parts baking soda. Spread paste over the stain, and let it sit overnight. In the morning, brush off paste and rinse the affected area with cool water.
If stain has been on your capris for more than a day, you'll need to try something a little stronger. Mix a small amount of chlorine bleach with warm water, and spread solution over stain. Let this sit for up to an hour, and then check back and see if the stain has faded. If not, lightly agitate the area with a soft-bristled brush. Rinse with cold water when you’re done.
