What You'll Need

  • Mild liquid laundry detergent
  • Sponge or cloth
  • Cold water

Step 1: Blot the Stained Area

Start by using a sponge or cloth to gently blot stained area. This will help to lift any excess gravy. Make sure to not scrub or rub the fabric as this could spread the stain and damage the material.

Step 2: Apply Laundry Detergent

Using a small amount of mild liquid laundry detergent, apply it directly to the stained area. Allow detergent to sit for a few minutes to give it time to work into the stain.

Step 3: Rinse with Cold Water

After applying detergent, rinse the stain with cold water. This will help to dilute stain and help detergent to break it down. If necessary, repeat steps 2 and 3.

Step 4: Machine Wash

Once you have removed the majority of stain, machine wash the boxer shorts. Make sure to follow the instructions on the garment tag for the best results. After washing, check to make sure the stain is gone before allowing the boxer shorts to dry.

Bonus Tip: Use Vinegar

If the stain is particularly stubborn, you can try adding a cup of white vinegar to wash cycle. This will help to remove any remaining residue and help to prevent the stain from setting.
