Before you start any cleaning process, be sure to scrape away any excess food that's left on the board shorts. You can do this by gently using a spoon or butter knife in order to remove the food. Be sure to be careful not to rub the food into the fabric, as this can cause further damage.
Once you've scraped away the excess food, it's time to pre-treat the stain. To do this, you'll need to make a solution of one part liquid detergent and two parts warm water. Dip a cloth into solution and dab the stained area in order to saturate it. Let the solution sit on the stain for around 5-10 minutes before continuing to the next step.
After the pre-treatment step is complete, you can start washing the board shorts. The best way to do this is to put the shorts in the washing machine on the cold cycle with a mild detergent. Be sure to use cold water, as hot water can worsen the stain and make it more difficult to remove. After cycle is finished, machine dry the shorts on a low setting.
If the stain is still visible after the initial wash, you can repeat steps 2 and 3 until the stain is fully removed. It might take multiple attempts, but eventually the stain should start to diminish and the board shorts should be looking good as new.
Cleaning up gravy stains on board shorts isn't always easy, but with the right technique it can be done. Scrape away any excess food, pre-treat the area with a solution of liquid detergent and warm water, and then wash the shorts in cold water in the washing machine. Repeat these steps if necessary and your board shorts should be looking as good as new in no time!
