What You Need

Towel
Dishwashing detergent
Cold water
Ammonia
White vinegar

Instructions

Blot up excess gravy using a towel. Do not rub the stain as it will spread the spill and make it harder to clean.
Mix one teaspoon of dishwashing detergent with two cups of cold water in a container. Mix until the solution is frothy.
Dampen a cloth in the solution and dab at the stain. This should be done gently to avoid over-wetting the fabric.
Continue to dab the stain until it has been completely removed. If some of the stain remains, mix one teaspoon of ammonia with two cups of cold water and dampen a cloth in the solution.
Dab the stain with the cloth until the remainder of the stain is gone.
Rinse the area by dabbing with a cloth dampened with cold water.
If the stain persists, mix one tablespoon of white vinegar with two cups of cold water. Dampen a cloth in the solution and dab at stain.
Allow the area to dry completely.

Additional Tips

When laundering clothing with a gravy stain, add a cap full of ammonia to the wash cycle for additional cleaning power.
Always test any cleaning method in a hidden area prior to using on the main stain to ensure fabrics don't react negatively.
