An Angora is a luxury fabric made from goats, rabbits, and other animals that produces incredibly soft fibers. But like any other fabric, those fibers can absorb spills and stains very easily. The most common stains that people have to deal with on Angora are gravy stains. If you’ve got a gravy stain on your Angora, don’t panic – it’s easy to remove.
The first step is to blot the stain as soon as possible. Use a paper towel or a clean cloth and press down gently but firmly on the stained area. This will absorb some of the gravy, so make sure to do this quickly before stain sets in.
Next, apply a spot cleaner or carpet cleaner to stain. Follow the instructions on bottle and apply it directly onto the stain. You may need to use a scrub brush to help agitate the cleaner into the Angora fibers. Let cleaner sit for up to 10 minutes.
Once the cleaner has set in, rinse the area with cool water and blot up the excess moisture with a clean cloth or paper towels. Place a fan or air conditioner near the area to speed up the drying process and keep stain from setting further.
After area is completely dry, examine the stain to see if there’s any fading. If it looks like the stain is still visible, repeat steps 2 and 3 or try using a different type of cleaner. Once the stain is gone, you’re all done.
