Using a clean, white cloth or paper towel, blot the gravy stain to absorb as much of the gravy as possible. This will help to reduce the amount of gravy that needs to be removed.
Choose a good quality, grease-cutting stain remover and apply it directly to the affected area. Allow the remover to work for about 10 minutes before proceeding to the next step.
Rinse the stained area with cool water and continue to blot area with a clean, dry cloth or paper towel to remove as much gravy as possible.
Mix together a solution of lukewarm water and a few drops of gentle detergent or liquid soap. Soak the affected area in this solution for 15 minutes. Afterward, rinse the area with cool water and check to see if the stain has been removed.
If the stain has not been completely removed, repeat process until the stain is gone. If the stain still persists, try soaking fabric in a mixture of one tablespoon of baking soda and two cups of water. Leave fabric to soak for 30 minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water.
Once the stain has been completely removed, wash abaya according to care instructions on the label. Air-dry the garment and it should be good as new!
