You don’t need many items to remove the stain:
Before attempting to remove the stain, start by rinsing the area with cold water. You want to rinse the stain as quickly as possible after it happens. Do not use hot water, as this can set the stain into the fabric.
Next, pre-treat the stain with dish soap. This will help break down the proteins in the stain. Allow soap to sit on the fabric for a few minutes, and then rub the soap into the stain with your fingers.
Once you have pre-treated stain, wash the garment in the washing machine using a detergent that contains enzymes. Enzymes help break down the proteins in stain more effectively than regular detergents. Set the washing machine to cold water and the gentle cycle, and then hang the item to dry.
If the stain remains after washing, you can apply rubbing alcohol directly to the stain. Let it sit for a few minutes, and then rub it in with your fingers. You can also apply white vinegar to the stain, which can help lighten the stain. However, be sure to always test a hidden area of fabric first. Allow the vinegar or alcohol to sit for a few minutes before rinsing with cold water.
If the stain is still present after you have tried the above methods, you may need to repeat the steps. Be patient, as it may take a few attempts before the stain is completely removed.
Removing gravy stains from clothing can be a challenge, but with patience and a few simple steps, you can get rid of stain quickly and effectively. Always refer to the garment’s care label for instructions before attempting to remove the stain.
