What You'll Need

  • Dish soap
  • White vinegar
  • White cloth
  • Water
  • Bucket

Step 1: Create a Soapy Solution

In a large bucket or basin, combine 1 tablespoon of dish soap and 1 cup of white vinegar. Add 2 cups of warm water to the solution and mix them all together.

Step 2: Soak the Stained Area

Submerge the stained area of the white tie into the soapy solution and allow it to soak for about 15 minutes.

Step 3: Rinse and Launder

After 15 minutes, take the tie out and rinse it with cold water. Place the tie in the washing machine with laundry detergent and let it run on a cold, gentle cycle. Once done, hang the tie up to dry.

Additional Tips

  • For tougher stains, try using a soft brush or toothbrush to scrub stain before soaking or laundering.
  • Always check the care label of your white tie before proceeding with any cleaning methods.
