The first step is to pre-treat the stain with a stain remover. You can buy a commercial product, or make your own using baking soda and white vinegar. Mix together equal parts baking soda and water, then add a few drops of vinegar. Apply the mixture directly to the stain and gently rub it into the fabric.
Once you've pre-treated the stain, leave it for a few minutes before soaking in hot water mixed with enzyme-based laundry detergent. Let the tank top soak for up to an hour. This will help to break down the stain further.
After soaking, the tank top should go in the washing machine on the hottest setting possible. As long as the tank top is safe to machine wash, this should be enough to remove the stain. If not, repeat steps one and two above before washing again.
