As soon as you notice the stain, fill a basin with cold water and add some mild detergent. Submerge the stained area and let it sit for a few hours. When the time is up, rinse it off and check the results.
If the grass stain is still there, you can try rubbing some mild liquid detergent on the area, followed by baking soda. Let it sit for a few minutes before scrubbing with a soft brush. Rinse the area again, and repeat if necessary.
If the stain still remains, you may have to resort to more powerful methods. Use a mixture of bleach and water or a vinegar and water solution and apply it directly to the stain. Let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing off thoroughly.
Before using any of the above methods, make sure to read the care label on garment. If it says “dry clean only” then you should take it to a professional cleaner instead.
Before trying any of the above methods, test them on an inconspicuous area of the underside of the fabric. This will ensure that the treatments don’t discolor or damage the material.
Grass stains can be a pain to remove, but with right techniques they can be eliminated quickly and easily. If all else fails, take the item to a dry cleaner and they can help you restore it to its former glory.
