Grass stains

Step 1: Check the Care Label

Before you attempt to remove the grass stain from sweater, it is important to check the garment's care label first. This will let you know the best method for cleaning the fabric of your sweater. If there is no care label, use gentlest cycle on your washing machine or hand wash the garment with warm water.

Step 2: Pre-Treat the Stain

To start pre-treating the grass stain, you'll need a few supplies. Grab some white vinegar, laundry detergent and a toothbrush. Dip toothbrush in the white vinegar and use it to brush stained area of the sweater. Let the vinegar sit on the stain for 10-15 minutes.

Step 3: Wash the Sweater

Once you have finished pre-treating the grass stain, it is time to wash sweater. Depending on the fabric, either hand wash the sweater in a sink filled with soapy water or place in the washer and select the gentlest cycle. Try to avoid using hot water and harsh detergents which can damage fabric or set the stain.

Step 4: Dry Sweater

The last step is to dry sweater. It is recommended to air dry the garment or use the delicate or cool setting on the dryer. Avoid the hottest Dryer cycle as this can cause the grass stain to set. Once sweater is completely dry, check to see if the stain is still present. If so, repeat the cleaning process until grass stain is removed.
