Remove Grass Stains using Rubbing Alcohol

The most common way to clean grass stains is to use rubbing alcohol. All you need to do is dab some of the rubbing alcohol on a soft cloth and gently rub it across the lens. You may want to start out with a small part of the lens first to test if the rubbing alcohol will damage your sunglasses in any way. If this works, great! Keep rubbing until the stain is gone.

Try Vinegar

Vinegar is another great way to get rid of grass stains. Mix two tablespoons of vinegar with a quart of water, then dip a soft cloth into the mixture and dab it onto the lenses. Gently rub until the stain is erased. You may want to repeat this process a few times in order to achieve the best results.

Baking Soda and Water

Another method you can use is to make a paste of baking soda and water. Apply the paste to grass-stained area and let it sit for about 15 to 20 minutes. After it has had time to dry, simply wipe it off with a soft cloth.

Powdered Detergent

For a more abrasive cleaning option, you can use powdered laundry detergent. Make a thick paste from powdered detergent and lukewarm water and apply it directly to the stain. Let it sit for 15 minutes and then wipe it off with a soft cloth. This should help to remove the grass stain without damaging your sunglasses.

Prevention Tips

The best way to prevent grass stains on your sunglasses is to store them properly. After wearing them outdoors, make sure to keep them in a case or pouch away from dirt and debris. When you’re cleaning or wiping your lenses, be sure to use glasses-safe wipes or cloths and a gentle cleaner, so as not to scratch the lenses or damage frames.
