How to Remove Grass Stains from Suede Clothes Quickly and Easily

Grass stains can ruin the look of your favorite suede items, such as jackets, shoes and trousers. Fortunately, removing grass stains from suede clothes is not as difficult as it may seem. With a few simple steps you can get your suede looking good as new.

What do I need?

  • A soft cloth
  • Cold water
  • Mild detergent
  • Cornstarch or talcum powder

Steps to remove grass stains from suede clothes

  1. Gently scrape off any dried grass from the stain with a soft cloth (do not scrub).
  2. Dampen a clean cloth with cold water and gently dab at the stain.
  3. Mix a small amount of mild detergent with a bit of cold water to create a solution. Dab the solution onto stain. Do not apply too much pressure.
  4. Rinse the suds away with a damp cloth.
  5. Let the area dry completely.
  6. Once dry, sprinkle some cornstarch or talcum powder onto the area.
  7. Gently brush the powder away with a soft brush.

Additional Tips

  • Don’t use hot water, as this can set the stain.
  • Never rub the stain too vigorously, as this can damage the suede fabric.
  • Avoid putting suede items in a washing machine, as this can cause permanent damage.
  • For deeper stains, you may need to use a suede cleaning kit.
