Removing Grass Stains from a Sports Bra
- Soak the stain in water: The first step is to soak the stained area in cold water as soon as possible to stop the stain from setting in. Put the garment in a bowl of cold water and let it sit for 30 minutes.
- Pre-treat with a stain remover: After soaking, apply a stain remover or laundry pretreatment to the stained area. Let product sit for 10 minutes before washing.
- Wash the item: Place the garment in a washing machine with cold water and a mild detergent. Avoid using hot water, bleach, or harsh detergents, as these can cause stain to set.
- Air dry: Once cycle is complete, air dry your sports bra. Do not put it in the dryer as this can set the stain.
Additional Tips
- If grass stain does not come out after washing, repeat the steps above.
- For tough stains, create a paste with baking soda and water and use a soft brush to rub it into the stain. Let it sit for 15 minutes then wash as normal.
- For colored sports bras, use a color-safe bleach or a color remover to help remove the stain.
- Be sure to check care label on your sports bra before pretreating or washing it.
