First, scrape off any excess dirt or grass with a dull knife or spoon. Gently blot the area with a soft cloth or paper towel to absorb as much of the liquid as possible. Make sure not to rub stain as this could cause it to spread even further.
Mix a tablespoon of white vinegar and one teaspoon of mild detergent in a bowl of cold water. Soak the stained part of the fabric in the solution for about 15 minutes. If the stain is especially stubborn, you can add a bit of baking soda to mix.
After 15 minutes, rinse the fabric with cold water. Be sure to check if stain has lifted properly, if not, repeat the pre-treatment method once more. Once the stain has faded enough, you can move onto the next step.
Fill a bucket or sink with lukewarm water and add a mild detergent. Submerge the fabric in the soapy water and gently massage it in circles. Let the fabric soak for at least 30 minutes to ensure that the stain is lifted. Afterward, rinse fabric with cold water to remove any soap residue.
Lay your fabric flat on a clean towel and allow it to air-dry naturally. Do not put fabric in the dryer as this could set the stain, making it even harder to remove. Instead, lay the fabric out in a well-ventilated area and let it air-dry completely before wearing or storing away.
With these few simple steps, you can say goodbye to stubborn grass stains and hello to a clean and vibrant silk satin fabric!
