No matter how much care you take to keep your clothes stain-free, at times you will inevitably find yourself dealing with pesky grass stains. And when it comes to fabrics like silk noil, if the grass stains are not properly treated right away, they could end up being very difficult to remove. But don’t worry - we have some tricks that can help you get rid of those nasty grass stains in a jiffy! Before getting started, make sure you read the care label on your garment so you can follow recommended guidelines.
What You'll Need
- White vinegar
- Laundry detergent or soap
- Toothbrush (preferably one that you don't mind throwing away afterwards)
Steps
- Gently scrape off any excess dirt from the stain with a spoon or butter knife.
- Soak the grass-stained area in a bowl filled with cold water for about 10 minutes.
- Mix a solution of 1 part white vinegar and 4 parts cold water, and apply it to the stained area with a cloth.
- Let the solution set for 5 minutes.
- Using a damp cloth, gently dab the stained area to remove the grass stain.
- If the stain is still there, use a toothbrush dipped in a solution of laundry detergent or soap and cold water to scrub the area in circular motions.
- Rinse area thoroughly with cold water to get rid of any residual soap.
- Once you make sure the area is correctly rinsed, let the garment air dry.
Tips
- Always read the care label directions first before attempting to clean any grass stains.
- Do not apply heat or use hot water as this can set the stain and make it harder to remove.
- Be sure to check the garment once it has been cleaned to make sure the stain is completely gone.
