What You'll Need

  • Cold water
  • Mild detergent
  • Sponge or soft cloth
  • Hydrogen peroxide (optional)

Instructions

  1. As soon as possible after the stain has been made, rinse the area with cold water. This helps to stop stain from settling and spreading.
  2. Mix a solution of mild detergent and cold water, and use a sponge or soft cloth to gently blot at stain until it starts to lift.
  3. Rinse the area with cold water again before repeating the process with a small amount of laundry detergent.
  4. For stubborn stains, you may want to try using hydrogen peroxide. Mix two parts of warm water with one part of hydrogen peroxide, and then gently blot the stained area with solution until the grass stain is removed.
  5. Rinse the fabric in cold water to remove all of the cleaning solution, and let it air dry. Do not put the item in the dryer before inspecting for any remaining staining.

Tips and Warnings

  • Always check the label of your garment before attempting to remove the stain to ensure that the cleaning method used is appropriate.
  • Test all cleaning solutions on an inconspicuous area first to make sure they don't cause further damage.
