What You'll Need
- Soap (liquid, powdered or bar)
- Baby powder
- White vinegar
- A sponge or cloth
Instructions
- Gently brush off any dried-on dirt or grass with a soft brush. Do not rub the stain, as this could spread it further.
- If the grass stain is still wet, blot the area with a damp cloth to absorb the moisture. Do not rub the stain again.
- Mix a solution of soap and hot water. For best results, use same brand and type of soap that you would normally wash the garment in.
- Using a sponge, dab the soapy mixture onto stained areas. Blot the area gently to remove the stain, going in direction of the fibers (do not rub).
- Rinse the area by blotting with a damp sponge dipped in clean water.
- If the stain still remains, try using a baby powder paste. Mix one tablespoon of baby powder and two tablespoons of water to create a paste. Apply the paste to the stain and leave for 20 minutes. Rinse with cold water and repeat if necessary.
- For stubborn stains, try using white vinegar. Mix one part vinegar to two parts water. Dip a cloth in mixture and dab onto the stained area. Leave to set for 30 minutes and then rinse with cold water. Repeat if necessary.
Tips
- Always test your cleaning solutions on an inconspicuous area before treating the stain.
- Do not use hot or warm water, as this could set the stain permanently.
- For best results, try to treat the stain as soon as possible.
