Grass stains can be tricky to remove from a shift dress, but it's definitely possible. The first step is to pre-treat the fabric with a stain remover that's intended for use on fabrics. Spot treat the area, then let the solution sit for five to 10 minutes before washing.
Next, launder your dress using hottest water setting possible for the fabric type and detergent. Avoid using bleach as this can fade the color of light-colored fabrics.
If the stain is still present after laundering, you can try treating it with white vinegar. Make a mixture of one part vinegar to four parts cold water and apply it directly to the stain with a cotton swab or cloth. Let the solution sit on the stain for 15 minutes, then rinse it off with cool water and launder the item again.
If the stain still won't come out, you can mix a small amount of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to form a paste, then rub it into the stain. Let it sit overnight, then wash the dress as usual. Another option is to apply a bar of laundry soap directly to the stain and lightly scrub it with a damp cloth, then launder the item.
With a few simple steps, you can remove grass stains from your shift dress and make it look brand new again. Good luck!
