Removing Fresh Stains

One of the most effective methods of removing fresh grass stains is to treat them with a stain remover. Use a small amount of stain remover on the affected area and gently rub it in. After that, rinse off the spot with cold water. Then, add a laundry detergent to the wash cycle that contains enzymes such as Protease, Amylase, and Cellulase, which are specifically designed to break down the proteins in grass stains and help eliminate them.

Treating Older Stains

For older or set-in grass stains, you may need to apply a pre-treatment solution to the entire garment before washing. Mix 1 teaspoon of a liquid detergent and 2 tablespoons of white vinegar in 1 quart of warm water. Soak the stained area for about 15 minutes before putting it in washer. Be sure to use cold water when washing the garment.

Removing Stubborn Stains

If the grass stains are still stubborn, you may need to use a stronger cleaning solution. Make a paste out of equal parts baking soda and water and apply it to the stain. Leave it on for several hours or overnight before rinsing it off with cold water. Afterwards, let the garment air dry before washing it in the washing machine.

Additional Tips

  • Before applying any stain removal solutions, test it first on a hidden area of the material to ensure it won't cause damage.
  • Always read and strictly follow laundering instructions on the label before washing garment.
  • Dry the rash guard in a shady area instead of direct sunlight, as this will help prevent the stains from becoming permanent.
