Grass stains

Step 1: Preparing the Raincoat

To begin, remove any dirt and debris from the outside of the raincoat. A soft-bristle brush or a soft cloth can help loosen stubborn bits of dirt and grass. Once you have removed the dirt, turn the coat inside out so that you can access the stains on the inside of the fabric.

Step 2: Pre-treating the Stain

Next, if the stain is fresh, run some cold water through back of the fabric. This will help prevent the stain from setting into the fabric. Then, apply a pre-treatment solution such as a laundry detergent, a liquid dish soap, or an enzyme stain remover specifically designed for treating fabrics.

Step 3: Washing Coat

Once you have applied your pre-treatment, it is time to wash the coat. Place the coat in the washing machine with a mild detergent, such as Woolite. Use gentlest cycle possible and avoid using hot water. If coat is heavily stained, you may want to add a cup of white vinegar to the wash. This will help to break down the stain and loosen it from the fabric.

Step 4: Applying a Stain Removing Product

If the stain is still present after washing the coat, the next step is to apply a stain removing product specifically designed for raincoats. Follow the instructions on the product carefully to make sure that the coat does not become damaged during the process. Once the product has been applied, allow the coat to air dry. Do not put the coat in the dryer, as this can cause the stain to set permanently.

Step 5: Finishing Touches

Finally, once coat is completely dry, use a soft brush to brush away any remaining dirt or debris. Then, if desired, apply a protective coating such as a waterproofing spray to coat to help repel water and prevent future stains.

Conclusion

By following these steps, you will be able to easily remove any grass stains from your raincoat. With just a bit of effort, you can keep your raincoat looking clean and bright season after season.
