Step 1: Pre-Treat the Stain

The pre-treatment step is essential to removing grass stains from your raincoat. Begin by creating a simple paste out of warm water and powdered laundry detergent. Rub paste into the stain and let it sit for two to three minutes.

Step 2: Wash the Raincoat

Once the paste has had a chance to set, it's time to throw your raincoat in the washing machine. Make sure the water temperature is set to hot, and use an oxygenated bleach to further help lift the stain. Let the raincoat wash and dry completely.

Step 3: Check for Residue

Once raincoat is dried, take a look at the area and see if the stain has been removed. If not, repeat steps 1 and 2. If it has, then you're one step closer to having your good-as-new raincoat!

Step 4: Apply Stain Remover

If you still notice some residue from the grass stain, use a commercial stain remover or a hydrogen peroxide-based solution. Apply the solution to the area, and allow it to sit for ten minutes. Then rinse the area with cold water and let raincoat dry completely.

Step 5: Store Your Raincoat

Once the stain has been removed, let your raincoat air dry for at least 4 hours before storing it away. This will make sure that any remaining stain remover or bleaching agent is thoroughly rinsed away. And you're done! You've successfully removed the grass stain from your raincoat.
