Removing Grass Stains from Pillows

  1. Remove any excess dirt and grass from the stain using a stiff brush or a damp cloth.
  2. Make a mixture of one part white vinegar and two parts water and apply it directly to the stained area.
  3. Allow solution to sit on the stained area for 15-20 minutes before blotting off with a clean cloth.
  4. Mix one tablespoon of liquid dish detergent and one tablespoon of baking soda in one cup of warm water and use a clean cloth to apply it to stained area.
  5. Allow the solution to sit on the stain for 15-20 minutes before blotting off with a clean cloth.
  6. If the stain is still visible, mix one tablespoon of oxygenated bleach with two tablespoons of warm water and apply it to stained area.
  7. Allow the solution to sit on the stain for 15-20 minutes before rinsing off with cold water and blotting dry with a clean cloth.
  8. If stain is still visible, repeat steps two through six.

Additional Tips

  • Always test the cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area of the pillow first to check for colorfastness.
  • Do not machine wash or dry the pillow until the grass stain is completely removed.
  • Use a clean cloth with each cleaning solution to prevent spreading the stain.
