The first step is to pre-treat the stain. Place the stained area of the garment on a flat surface and cover stain with a stain remover or laundry detergent. Rub the detergent into the fabric with an old toothbrush or soft cloth. You may also want to add a teaspoon of white vinegar or ammonia to the mixture. Let this mixture sit on the stain for several minutes before rinsing.
If the stain remains, you can try machine washing the item. Start by turning the fabric inside out and placing it in a mesh bag to protect it during the washing process. Using a gentle cycle, select the coldest setting possible on your washing machine. Use a mild laundry detergent, and avoid using bleach if possible.
Once the item has been washed, you should hang it to dry. Heat from the dryer can set grass stains, so be sure to avoid that. Instead, hang item in a well-ventilated area and let it air dry completely.
If the stain still remains after the first attempt, repeat Steps 1-3 until the stain is gone. It may take a few tries, but with patience and right technique, you should be able to successfully remove any grass stains from Paul Smith clothing.
