There are a number of unconventional cleaning agents you can use to tackle those stubborn grass stains. But, most effective cleaning products for removing grass stains on mesh are white vinegar, dish soap, and laundry detergent. Simply mix equal parts of these three ingredients together, then apply directly to the stained area. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes, then gently scrub before rinsing with water.
For particularly deep-set grass stains, pre-treating the area with baking soda can help break up the stain before you even begin the cleaning process. Mix one part baking soda with two parts water to make a paste, then spread it onto the stained area and let it sit for 15-30 minutes. Then, rinse with cold water to remove the paste residue and proceed with the cleaning process.
Once you’ve pre-treated the stain (if necessary) and mixed up your cleaning concoction, it’s time to clean your mesh. When washing mesh, it’s important to handle it gently. Avoid hard scrubbing and high heat, which can damage the fabric. Instead, dip the mesh in solution and swish it around gently, then rinse with cold water. For best results, allow mesh to air dry rather than using a dryer.
