The first step to getting rid of grass stains on your mattress is to determine exactly where they are located. Using a flashlight and a white cloth can help you to identify the stained area(s). This will allow you to focus your efforts on those areas only.
Once you've identified the stained areas, it's time to prepare a cleaning solution. You'll need to mix equal parts of white vinegar and water. If you're using an upright cleaning machine, pour mixture into the appropriate tank. If you don't have a cleaning machine, simply put the solution in a spray bottle, and then spray it onto the stained areas.
Now that your cleaning solution is ready, it's time to apply it to stained areas. If you're using an upright cleaning machine, turn it on and set it to the appropriate setting for your mattress. Let it run for about 5 minutes. If you're using a spray bottle, just spray the solution onto the stained areas and let it sit for 5 minutes.
Once the solution has had a chance to sit and work its magic, it's time to scrub the stain. Use a soft-bristled brush and gently scrub the stained area. Be sure not to be too harsh, as you don't want to damage the mattress.
After you've scrubbed the stained area, it's time to rinse mattress. If you're using an upright cleaner, fill it up with clean water and allow it to run for a few minutes. If you're using a spray bottle, spray the area lightly with clean water, and then use a damp cloth to wipe away any remaining residue.
Once you've finished rinsing the mattress, you'll need to allow it to dry. Place towels on the mattress and open the windows if possible to help speed up drying process. Once the mattress is dry, you'll be able to enjoy your freshly cleaned mattress in no time!
