Step 1: Preparation

Before attempting to remove the stain, you should check to make sure that the garment is machine-washable. Marc Jacobs jackets can vary, so be sure to check the tag before proceeding. Once you have verified it is machine-washable, you can go ahead and apply a pre-treatment solution to the stain.

Step 2: Pre-treatment Solution

Mix a solution of one part white vinegar with three parts cold water, then gently sponge it onto the stain. Allow the solution to sit on the stain for 10-15 minutes, then rinse it off with cold water.

Step 3: Laundry Soap

Using a liquid detergent, apply a small amount directly to the stain. Work the soap in gently, then rinse the area with cold water. Repeat this process if needed.

Step 4: Washing Machine

Place your Marc Jacobs item into the washing machine with other similar items. Add appropriate amount of detergent for the load size and set cycle for cold water and a light soil level. After the cycle is complete, remove the item and inspect the stain. If it is still visible, repeat steps 2-4 again.

Step 5: Rinse and Dry Clothing

Rinse the garment with cold water once more, then hang it up to dry on a clothesline or in front of a fan. Avoid using heat, as it may set the stain.
