What You'll Need

  • Laundry detergent
  • Stain pretreater
  • Soft towel
  • White vinegar
  • Tub of cold water

Step 1: Pre-Treat the Stain

The first step in removing a grass stain is to pre-treat the stain with a laundry pretreater. Apply the pretreater directly to the stained area and gently rub it into the fabric. Allow the pretreater to sit for 5-10 minutes before continuing to the next step.

Step 2: Soak in Cold Water

Fill a tub with cold water and add one tablespoon of laundry detergent. Gently submerge the stained article of clothing in the soapy water and allow it to soak for at least 15 minutes. Check on the garment every few minutes—if the stain appears to be lightening, continue soaking the clothing until stain is gone.

Step 3: Rinse the Fabric

Once the stain has disappeared, rinse the fabric in cold water. To ensure all of the detergent is removed, rinse the garment several times with cold water until the water runs clear.

Step 4: Coagulate the Stain With White Vinegar

After rinsing the clothing, it's time to coagulate any remaining stain particles with white vinegar. Soak a soft towel in white vinegar and lay it over the stained area. The white vinegar will help break down any remaining stain particles and make them easier to remove in the next step.

Step 5: Wash the Fabric in Warm Water

Once the stain particles are coagulated, it's time to clean the fabric. Wash the garment in warm water with laundry detergent. Follow the instructions on the detergent's label and wash the clothing according to the fabric type. For best results, use a gentle cycle and avoid harsh fabrics.

Step 6: Dry the Fabric

After washing the fabric, let it air dry on a line or in a dryer. Hang the garment on a clothes line in sun or tumble dry on a low setting. Make sure the garment is completely dry before putting it away or wearing it.

Conclusion:

Removing grass stains from Kate Spade clothing doesn't have to be a daunting task. With right supplies, you can easily get rid of grass stains and keep your favorite clothing looking like new. Good luck!
