Get Rid of Those Stubborn Grass Stains Fast
Grass stains are one of the worst things to ever happen to a well-loved jumper, especially if they've been sitting there for a while. But with the right cleaning techniques, you can easily remove them and get your favourite jumper back in pristine condition.

1. Pre-Treat with a Mild Detergent
Before attempting to remove grass stains from a jumper, it's important to pre-treat the stain. This will help to break down the stain molecules, making them easier to remove. To pre-treat, mix a small amount of mild detergent with lukewarm water and apply it directly to stain. Leave it on for a few minutes before proceeding to next step.
2. Soak with Vinegar
Vinegar is an extremely powerful natural cleaner that can effectively cut through grass stains. Create a solution of equal parts white vinegar and lukewarm water and soak the stained area in it for around 15 minutes. The vinegar will help to loosen the grass stain so that it can be removed more easily.
3. Scrub the Stain Away
Next, take a soft-bristled brush or cloth and gently scrub the stained area. Be careful not to rub too hard, as this could damage the fabric of jumper. If the stain is still visible after scrubbing, repeat the process until it is fully removed.
4. Rinse and Dry
Once the stain has been removed, rinse the area with cold water and dry the jumper outside in sun. The sun will help to further remove any stubborn stains and leave your jumper looking good as new.
5. Use a Stain Remover for Tough Stains
If you find that the stain is still present after following the steps above, it may be necessary to use a specialist stain remover. These often come in the form of a spray and can be purchased from most supermarkets and homeware stores. Simply spray the stain and leave it to sit for a few minutes before rinsing and drying as usual.
