Jacquard is a strong and popular fabric—it’s heavy-duty enough to be used in upholstery, but soft enough to use in clothing. It’s also a favorite of interior designers, as it stands up to high traffic and wear and tear. However, like all fabrics, Jacquard is not immune to grass stains. Fear not, though—removing grass stains from Jacquard doesn’t have to be difficult.
How to Clean Grass Stains from Jacquard: The Process
- First, start by scraping off as much of dried grass as possible using a butter knife or other straight edge; this will make it easier to remove stain from the fabric without pushing the grass further down into the fibers.
- Then, make a mixture of one part dish soap and two parts hydrogen peroxide. Gently rub mixture onto the stained area using a cloth or sponge. Allow the solution to sit on the stain for five to 10 minutes
- Rinse out the stained area with cold water. Repeat this process until the stain is completely gone.
- Once you’ve removed the grass stain, fill your sink or a bucket with cool water and add a few drops of laundry detergent. Soak area for 30 minutes, then rinse again with cold water.
- If the stain is still visible, you can try soaking it in a solution of equal parts white vinegar and warm water for 30 minutes before rinsing again.
- Finally, lay the fabric flat to dry. Avoid drying it in the dryer, as heat may set the stain.
If you follow these steps, you should have no problem removing grass stains from your Jacquard fabrics!
