What You Will Need

  • White vinegar
  • Dish soap
  • Baking soda
  • Laundry detergent
  • Soft-bristled brush

Step 1: Pre-treat the Stain with Dish Soap and Vinegar

Mix equal parts dish soap and white vinegar together to create a solution. Apply it to the stain using a soft-bristled brush and let the pre-treatment sit for 10 minutes.

Step 2: Apply Baking Soda, Let Sit, Then Scrub

Sprinkle baking soda directly on the stain and allow it to sit for 10 minutes. This will help break down the stain. After 10 minutes, use the soft-bristled brush to scrub area.

Step 3: Launder Until Stains Are Gone

Put the stained item in the washing machine with warm water and laundry detergent. Wash on the normal cycle until the stains have been removed.

Tips for success:

  • Make sure to do a patch test before attempting to clean entire garment.
  • For tougher stains, repeat the pre-treating process again.
  • Be careful to not leave baking soda on stain for too long as this may cause more harm than good.
