Steps to Remove Grass Stains From Flip Flops

  1. Start by scraping off any excess grass stuck in the ridges of the rubber sole.
  2. Place the flip flops in a sink or bucket and completely submerge them in warm water.
  3. Mix a natural detergent with the water and allow the flip flops to soak for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Remove flip flops from the water and scrub fronts and backs of each shoe with a stiff brush.
  5. Once stains have been removed, rinse flip flops in cold water.
  6. Allow the flip flops to air dry or, if time is an issue, use a clean towel to pat them dry.
  7. Once they're dry, they should look like new again!

Additional Tips

  • If the grass stains are particularly stubborn, you may need to pre-treat them with a stain remover before following the steps above.
  • For caked-on grass stains, create a paste out of baking soda and water and spread it over the affected area. Allow it to sit for 15-20 minutes, then use a soft brush or cloth to scrub away the stain. Rinse the area and repeat if necessary.
  • For delicate materials like canvas, place your flip flops in a washing machine on the delicate cycle with cold water. Make sure to wash them separately from your other clothes, and add a natural detergent or oxyclean to the load.
