But no need to worry—cleaning grass stains off of flannel is actually easy! All you need is a few common household items that you probably already have around the home.
The Cleaning Process
Begin by soaking stained area in cold water for 15 minutes. After the 15 minutes have passed, mix together ¼ cup of warm water and ¼ cup of dish soap in a bowl. Dip a clean cloth in the mixture and rub it into the stained area in a circular motion. Rinse the stained area off with cold water and let the shirt air dry.
If the stain is still present on your flannel shirt after the initial wash, dip the cloth into the same soap and water mixture once again. Rub the cloth into the stain using a bit more pressure this time. Rinse the stained area off with cold water and let the shirt air dry.
Tips
- Make sure not to use hot water when cleaning grass stains as it can set the stain and make it impossible to remove.
- After soaking the stained area in cold water, blot the excess moisture off of the shirt with a dry cloth before moving on to the soap and water mixture.
- Never machine dry shirt until you are certain that the stain has been completely removed.
